Hello again!
So today, I believe is a good day to tell you how exactly how I came to want to be a photographer. Which, to tell you the truth, I honestly have no idea. I never remember a time where I didn't want to be the one snapping the photos. It was much better than being in them! It wasn't until I was about 12 or so, though, that I realized it could actually be a career choice! Since then, I knew what I wanted to be. Amongst other things. =)
I am one of those people who doesn't have enough time in the day to do everything I want to. Ohh *sigh*.Currently, I take pictures of anything that catches my eye. Which is a lot of things! I love seeing something different than the people I am around. It's a fun feeling. But lately, as I am still working towards my camera, I have been seriously thinking about what I want my specialty in photography should be.
I always knew I wanted to do portraits, and just pictures of people in general. But recently, I have become immensely drawn to wedding photography specifically. My goal is to be "location independent," and go wherever the wind may blow! I think my biggest inspiration to become a wedding photographer had to have come from finding Jasmine Star on the Internet!
Go ahead, check her page out. I know you want to! She has uh-MAZ-ing talent!! And such a refreshing outlook on the world! I love it. Her photos are so original, and just seeing them makes me want to do that!
Recently, I've also connected with a fellow photographer from my area. I love it because he is so knowledgeable, and so willing to share as much as he can with me. The amazing thing is he wants to take me out shooting to prepare me for my cousin's wedding (she's nuts, I know, but she trusts me!). His name is Doug Wiederhold, and once again, I've been so lucky to find someone to learn from with such amazing talent!
I want to make people cry (tears of j*o*y) when they look at their wedding photos! It is one of the most important days in any couples' lives! And to be a part of that is such an honor, and I would love to contribute in some small way!
I love being around people, and I am such a people pleaser, I really don't think there is a job more perfect for me! I get to interact with amazing people, and immortalize memories for them! Win win as I see it!
But as of yet, I am still beginning!! I have almost no experience with portraits, and I don't even own a camera yet! Aannd, now I have put off getting for ANOTHER week. Granted it's for a good cause!! =) Nikon D5000, here I come! lol
Yet, my cousin must love me! Because she asked me to do her wedding this May! So in the next couple weeks, I get to practice with her. Which, I know, sounds horrible. But lucky for her, it's all free! I am going to shoot till my hands fall off, and she is more than satisfied! It's an exciting prospect.
Below, you can see a video of some of the pics I've posted. I'm working to move forward!
